Khopra Trek

Khopra Trek (also known as Khopra Ridge Trek) is one of the new alternative trekking destinations in the Annapurna region and also considered as the perfect alternative trail of Ghorepani Poonhill Trek because it offers less rough path offering the best views comparatively. For a short hike in a less crowed areas offering the best views in the Annapurna region, the Khopra trek is the best destination to choose from. The trek features stunning views of snowcapped mountains exposing the various ethnicities of the region with the possibilities of making trails with families and families with children also as the route is easy to walk on.

The trail follows the route from Ghandruk to Tadapani and from Tadapani, the path splits off to the north of Khopra ridge. The trek offers the best view of the Dhaulagiri range and Mt. Fishtail along with other Annapurna Himalayan Range. Nevertheless, the trek also provides equally remarkable views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang, and Nilgiri. From Tadapani toward the Dobate (located at the elevation of 3,420 from sea level) which is the perfect spot for observing sunrise over Mt. Dhaulagiri and a side trip to the hidden lake (Khayer Lake) in front of south Annapurna is the best path to travel. The path passes through stunning villages of Gurung, Magar, Chhetri, and Brahmin communities, that permit trekkers to expertise the pure Nepali culture and way of life and exchanging their own culture and experience with local people. The trek can be continued to Ghorepani and Poonhill and the end of the trek will on Tadapani.

The best part of the trek includes panoramic and closed views of Annapurna to explore the valley, outstanding view of sunrise and sunset from Poon Hill View Point, walking on the narrow and stone-paved trail, visit to ancient Monastery, old tradition Gurung Museum, waterfalls, scenic mountain flights and walking through dense Rhododendron forest which looks even more beautiful during Spring season and enjoying the trek on the hillside of the country.

Outline Itinerary 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara, drive to Syauli Bazaar and trek to Ghandruk: 30 mins flight, 2 hours’ drive, and 3 hours trek

Day 04: Ghandruk to Tadapani (2,590m/8,497ft) 3-4 hours

Day 05: Tadapani to Dobato (3,350m/10,990ft): 4-5 hours

Day 06: Dobato to Upper Chistibung (2,975m/3,198ft) 4-5 hours

Day 07: Trek to Khopra Ridge (3,660m/12007): 3-4 hours

Day 08: Rest day in Khopra Ridge: Tour of Kaire Lake (4,500m/14,763ft): 10-11 hours

Day 09: Trek to Swanta Village (2,200m/7,217ft): 5-6 hours

Day 10: Trek to Ulleri (2,050 m/6,725 ft): 5-6 hours

Day 11: Trek to Naya Pul then drive to Pokhara: 5-6 hours trek, 1-hour drive

Day 12:  Sightseeing in Pokhara then fly to Kathmandu

Day 13: Final departure

Include

• Two nights standard accommodation in 2/3/4/5 star category hotel in Kathmandu located tourist center, or up to you.
• Meals on full board (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trekking
